According to geological survey report and relevant experimental data, the lower soil layers of plant area are distinct at different location.  The original landform of the plant area is wavy terrace with small mountains and valleys.  The ground in some area is leveled into two layers, with a relative elevation of ±13.0m and ±18.0m.  In such area, extra soil in the mountain is removed to the valley, and weathered rock surface is exposed. In the site, the weathered bedrock is original sedimentary rock (shale, sandstone and mudstone), commonly highly weathered.

Occasionally, there is peaty soil with rotten plants, woods on the bottom of the valley, with a thickness of 2-6cm. Such soil is a huge challenge for foundation load bearing, so the foundation in this area requires measure.

The following item will affect and limit the whole project process: complex geology and landform, significant earth volume of excavation and filling in the plant area, and long construction period.

According to soil chemical experiment, the soil is with corrosive characteristics. If necessary, precaution measure of anticorrosion and isolation will be taken to avoid the contact of concrete and ground water.
